I have been thinking about different literature genres. What type of books do you like to read? I enjoy contemporary literature. I would consider My Sister's Keeper to be of this genre. I like books that make me "uncomfortable." I like to be drawn into a story and read about other people's lives and difficulties. Life is hard and I like to see what other people experience and how they handle it.
I also enjoy reading memoirs because many people have done amazing things and overcome extremely difficult challenges in their lives. This genre makes me feel overwhelmed and blessed in my own life.
I also like some fantasy/science fiction. But I mostly just read mainstream stuff like Ender's Game or Twilight.
I like mysteries, but don't read a ton of them. I like Sue Grafton. She has written A is for Alibi. B is for burglary, etc. Her latest one out is T is for Trespass. I also read all of John Grisham's stuff. They are a fun, quick read.
In high school and college I read a lot of classics. Jane Eyre was my favorite book in high school. I also like Pride and Prejudice. I still enjoy this genre, but don't read it as much anymore.
I have put up another poll! Vote for what you like to read. If I missed a genre that you like, please write a comment here. Thanks!
