January 2010 book club

I thought it would be fun to try something new and challenging for January's book club. All of the books revolve around the theme of winter tales. Think about winter as a character rather than a setting as you read these selections. I may have gone a bit overboard because I have obsessive tendencies. So just enjoy all the selections and read what you want to. No obligations, just FUN!

My Antonia by Willa Cather is considered a classic. This is the one book that everyone received. The reason behind this is because the library had enough copies of the book! I did enjoy this book so give it a try.

Edith Frome by Edith Wharton is also considered a classic, but is a short read.
I have not read this book in many years. It remember it to be haunting and sad, but still worth it. I plan to read it again.

Diamond Willow by Helen Frost is juvenile fiction about a young girl in Alaska with her sled dogs.

more coming.

I just finished Arctic homestead and noticed no one else has (or at least not voted that they have). If you have time this would be one I would try to sneak in before book club.
