Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Logic for these dates:
We lost Wednesday nights for book club due to YM/YW, which leaves Tuesdays or Thursdays. Some members cannot come on Thursdays and others cannot come on Tuesdays. So I am hoping we can take turns meeting on the 3rd Tuesday or Thursday. But then there are always conflicts, right? RS is actually the 3rd Tuesday of the month when they meet. So sometimes we will have to work around that. Also I am going to be gone almost the whole month of April. So I picked the last Thursday of the month for April.

I am planning ahead because I would really like us to read Hunger Games. But the problem with Hunger Games is that I cannot do a multiple copy hold for everyone because there are about 700 holds on the book at the library right now! So let's plan ahead! How does everyone feel about either purchasing their own copy of the book or putting it on hold NOW on your own individual card at the library? Let me know what you think!

I thought it interesting the debate about whether the plague was a test of faith sent by God or the evil working of the Devil (p 215). Anna seems to conclue is is simply a thing in nature. I like that she concludes that our energy is wasted trying to determine the source of the plague (God, Devil, or nature) and we are better off trying to deal with it.

I think that is so true of life. Why worry about the source of our trials? We have them. We deal with them as best we can. We move on. The why's aren't often even able to be answered.
