I read A Map of the World many years ago. All I remembered about it was that I liked it and the incident at the pond at the beginning of the novel. This second time of reading it there were about 10-20 pages right near the beginning that I thought - I cannot read this again. But then the plot twisted in a way I never suspected (even reading it again!!). And I was hooked. I LOVE this book. It speaks to me.
I think two important themes (of many) are friendship and marriage. Theresa is a mystery to me. I hope to discuss friendship at our meeting tonight. And the commitment and sacrifice of marriage are also good topics for our discussion. I am very interested to see what everyone thinks/thought about this book.
