April recommended books

The first book I want to recommend this month is entitled Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston. This book is a memoir and his story was actually on the news quite a bit in 2004. He was hiking outside of Moab when a boulder fell on him and pinned his arm beneath a rock. This is his story of how he survives and how he escapes the rock that pins him. I found it to be a fascinating story about how you never know how strong you are until you are put in a particular situation.

My book recommendations for last month were rather fluffy, so this book is hard-core emotionally difficult book to read: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book has a few highly disturbing scenes, but is still well worth the read. It is amazing. Hosseini has also written A Thousand Splendid Suns. I have this book on order from Amazon and am hoping for another great read when it arrives. I will let you know. I hope you enjoy the books this month.

If you like memoirs, I'd highly recommend "Dead Lucky" by Lincoln Hall. It's about his struggle to stay alive after he was left for dead on Mt. Everest. I found it fascinating!
