As many of you know I have started my Masters of library and information science degree. I have to write a term paper for one of my classes, and I am planning to write it on intellectual freedom. I find this to be a fascinating subject. I am reading a book entitled: "Libricide - The regime-sponsored destruction of books and libraries in the twentieth century" by Rebecca Knuth. I have only skimmed some of it so far, but I would like to have time to really devour it word for word. Here are a few profound quotes thus far. “Wherever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings.” (Heine 1821). "As good almost kill a man as kill a good book; who kills a man kills a reasonable creature, God's image; but he who destroys a good book kills reason itself." (Milton 1644)

The one county one book recommendation, The Book Thief, deals with book censorship. Have you read it?
I tried to read it twice, but I just couldn't get past the narrative style. Would you recommend trying once again?
It is certainly not a book I would read a second time. I agree with your assessment of the narrative style. It was painful to read. I would not recommend it, I just wondered if you had read it and what your take was.
